SVA Approval

SVA stands for single vehicle approval and this is a test which all amateur built low volume vehicles must pass before being allowed to be registered for use on the road in the UK.

The cost is £150 and takes approximately 4 hours to complete. The test is carried out by a number of government HGV test stations. The re test fee is £20.

The test must be pre booked and you are allowed to drive the vehicle to and from your nominated test station.

Because the TSC GT40 is manufactured in the UK it is designed to meet all of the SVA test requirements. This has proved to be very difficult for some non UK manufactured imported replica 40's.

SVA Test Service

We now offer a comprehensive SVA test service.

The completed car is delivered to our factory where it is given a pre SVA inspection and any required changes are made prior to the actual test.

The car is then transported to our local SVA test station and put through the test and transported back to the factory from where the customer can collect.

If for any reason rectification work is needed this can be carried out and a re test given.

SVA test kit

We have now developed a kit of parts which can be fitted for the SVA test only and then removed.

As these parts are only required to pass the SVA test they are available on a hire and return basis.

Road Registration in Europe

In several mainland European countries it can be difficult to register your completed TSC GT40 as a home built component form vehicle.

The solution is to return the completed TSC GT40 to the factory in the UK where we will SVA and road register the completed vehicle for you.

Once a car is road legal in any EEC member country it automatically becomes road legal in any other EEC member country.

It is then just a case of importing the TSC GT40 back into your home country as you would import any other private vehicle.

It is advisable to check with your local vehicle registration office for the rules about importing cars into your country.
