Tornado sports cars were formed in 1984 by the Father and Son team of Alan and Andy Sheldon and were based on a modern Industrial Estate in Worcestershire where the company still operates from today. The company objective was to produce high quality self assembly component form vehicles which could be completed using only simple hand tools by the enthusiast at home.

The introduction model was the Tornado M6GT which was a replica of Bruce McLarens road car project from 1969. The original car was a M6 Can-Am race car with an enclosed cockpit for the driver and was intended for every day road car use. Sadly Bruce was killed and the project was forgotten about until the late 90's when McLaren did finally introduce a road car.

In 1989 we began production of our Ford GT40 replica the TORNADO TSC GT40.

Due to the high demand for TSC GT40 body/chassis units production of the M6GT ended in 1992 allowing a much needed increase in TSC GT40 production.

In 1997 Alan Sheldon retired to follow leisure interests leaving Andy Sheldon to continue to control and expand the business.

In 1998 the Raptor V8 model was introduced which is a wide bodied, V8 powered, Lotus 7 inspired roadster with fully independant suspension.

In 2004 the new visitors showroom located opposite the main factory was opened.

In June 2008 development on the Carbon fibre Monocoque began and in June 2010 production started. An Aluminium version was also introduced

In 2011 the Ford Coyote V8 engine as used in the 2011 Ford Mustang was introduced as a standard engine option for the TSC GT40.

This engine is an all aluminuim, quad cam, fuel injected unit developing 412 BHP in its standard form or 624 BHP when supercharged and takes adavntage of many modern engine design technologies such as variable valve timing.

Adavntages over the older 302 include lighter weight, improved fuel consumption and power delivery but the most important feature of the Coyote V8 is a Euro V emissions rating making this unit emission compliant across Europe.

In early 2012 a MKII version of the TSC GT40 was introduced to recreate the Le Mans winning cars of 1966 that finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd ending the Ferrari domination of the event.
